Budget
At its December meeting, the Executive Committee approved the Budget for 2024 and this was presented to Coaches and Managers at a meeting at the Club last night (12th December).

Subs
As a result of inflationary pressures over the past few years, the Executive Committee has reluctantly approved an increase of £5 per month across all membership categories which will automatically be collected from members via GoCardless from January 2024. The new subs tiers are as follows:

• £10 per month for Cubs
• £25 per month for 7s Newbies to 18s (NWC and Girls RL Leagues)
• £20 per month for Open Age players (Men and Women)
• Additional siblings will still pay half subs
• Subs will be capped at £37.50 for members of the same immediate family

We know that this will add to members' financial burdens, however it is the first rise we’ve introduced since 2020 and we hope you will agree that membership of the Club still represents incredible value for money compared to just about every other pastime. We will continue to work with members who are suffering hardship - please contact our Treasurer to discuss any financial issues in complete confidence.

Note: a proposal to update the Constitution text to reflect the above increase will be tabled at the next AGM for formal ratification by members.

Team Fundraising
We carefully considered the results of the survey the Club carried out earlier this year which indicated some members wanted to remove the £750 team fundraising in favour of a subs increase. At this moment in time, the Club needs the money generated by the £750s to support the planned development and facility improvements planned for 2024 onwards. We look forward to sharing details of the projects with members in the New Year.

We have taken onboard the feedback from members who wish to contribute regular donations to their Team’s fundraising so the Club will offer this option via GoCardless. This will require the whole team to opt in at an amount they decide, but we hope this gives all members the flexibility to fundraise in ways that suit their teams’ needs.

Gift Aid
Finally, we are encouraging all teams to help the Club claim Gift Aid on donations from UK Taxpayers which will help contribute additional funds to both teams and the Club.
